Sanders's Week 14 NFL Predictions

By Jacob Sanders

Sanders went 9-7 last night putting him to 109-69 on the season

New Orleans Saints VS Atlanta Falcons

Well. Another Thursday night game, another wrong pick for me. I thought the Saints would continue their divisional domination by winning this game. Not so.

Falcons won 20-17

Indianapolis Colts VS Buffalo Bills

I originally was gonna put this an upset. But then I saw Nathan Peterson was starting for the Bills. Now I realize that the Colts can be legitimate favorites. For me, they are. Because the Colts have always been competitive until they drop the ball in the 4th quarter. Against Peterman? Don’t think the Bills can make that 4th quarter comeback.

Colts 20 Bills 14

Minnesota Vikings VS Carolina Panthers

Oo. Tough one. However, I’m going with the team that I believe takes the No. 1 seed. The Minnesota Vikings. There has been something about this team all year that makes you think they can go all the way to the Super Bowl. Actually, I’m pretty sure they choke at the NFC Championship. Probably to a missed field goal. History repeating itself. Classic. Sorry for the bad memories Vikings fans But, we aren’t there yet so let’s not get ahead of ourselves. We’re talking about the Panthers here, a team who just took a loss in New Orleans. Their season is probably over if they lose here. They’ll have some motivation but the Vikings defense, as usual, is just too good.

Vikings 27 Panthers 17

Chicago Bears VS Cincinnati Bengals

Bengals encountered a brutal game. This may effect them but I’ll stick pick the Bengals. They are good enough to beat a Bears offense that doesn’t have much oomph. Yeah. This one was short.

Bears 13 Bengals 16

Green Bay Packers VS Cleveland Browns

GM fired. John Dorsey hired. Cool. Doesn’t change the rest of this season and their potential to be the new 0-16 team. Packers win it here. Especially because they are still in the playoff hunt. But mostly because they’re playing the Browns. Let’s be honest with ourselves.

Packers 24 Browns 10

San Francisco 49ers VS Houston Texans

Well. I don’t have much confidence in the 49ers. But I’ll throw them a bone here. Simply because I’m pretty sure Savage is going to make some bone-headed mistakes while Garapollo will just play mistake-free if uninspiring football. That’s all you really need to beat this injury riddled Texans team.

49ers 21 Texans 13

Oakland Raiders VS Kansas City Chiefs

Well. I’m tired of picking the Chiefs. But they’re playing the Raiders. Ugh. Tough one here. But I’m going with the Raiders. I think they have enough to take care of a weak Chiefs secondary. One that won’t have Marcus Peters in the lineup. Uh-oh. Spells trouble for the Chiefs.

Raiders 23 Chiefs 16

Detroit Lions VS Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Bucs are just a bad team. The Lions aren’t. While the Lions have their own problems, they shouldn’t lose to a Bucs team that is having internal problems and can’t utilize their talent correctly. Ugh. The more you think about it, the more you realize this Bucs team shouldn’t be 4-8 yet they are. Gross.

Lions 24 Bucs 21

Dallas Cowboys VS New York Giants

We might want to talk about how much motivation the Giants will have with Eli back in the lineup. But how much that really matters? Not as much as we all want to think. Mostly because Eli still has no one to throw to and no one to protect him on the O-line. The change in coaching and front office doesn’t change how effective your roster currently is. Unfortunate. Dallas picks up another one here.

Cowboys 21 Giants 17

Tennessee Titans VS Arizona Cardinals

I would like to believe the Cardinals can win this game. Especially because the Titans have to be the most lackluster winning team in the League. Don’t believe me? Watch them play. It’s so hard to get excited about a team that doesn’t have any crystal clear strengths. Anyway, considering how they tend to win their games, they should be able to beat up on an injured Cardinals team. But maybe not….

Titans 17 Cardinals 16

New York Jets VS Denver Broncos

Oh boy. I’m not picking the Broncos this time. I loved the way the Jets battled last week. Great play by the offense. Not so great play by the defense. They’ve been pretty mediocre. Then again, so has the Broncos offense. Actually, the Broncos offense has been bad. Ugh. What a far cry from what this Denver team used to be.

Jets 27 Broncos 14

UPSET OF THE WEEK!!!!
Washington Redskins VS Los Angeles Chargers

Okay. Call me crazy. The Chargers are a red-hot team. But how hot exactly? Who have they really beat? When you look at their schedule, pretty much no one. So. With that, I believe the Redskins pull off the upset. A team that has been marred by injuries but somehow keeps itself competitive in games because Cousins performs that well at times. Oh yeah. It’s gonna happen here. A signature win for Cousins to discuss in contract talks.

Redskins 23 Chargers 20

Seattle Seahawks VS Jacksonville Jaguars

A matchup between two elite defenses and two elite QBs. Well, 75% of that statement was true. Bortles isn’t elite. Which, if you know me as a writer, you already know where this is going. The matchup isn’t even because Seattle has Russell Wilson and, well, the Jaguars have Bortles. The guy hasn’t made many mistakes but can you count on him to win against a defense that just won’t give in despite losing star players? I don’t think you can.

Seahawks 16 Jaguars 10

Philadelphia Eagles VS Los Angeles Rams

Tough one here. But I’m taking the Rams. Not because I don’t believe in the Eagles but because the Rams are just that tough. That, and they have the same winning formula that Seattle used to beat the Eagles. A tight defense with opportunistic offensive play. Let’s see if the Eagles have fixed their mistakes.

Eagles 20 Rams 26

Baltimore Ravens VS Pittsburgh Steelers

Incredible matchup here. Both of these teams are on winning streaks and, once again, the division comes down to a December Sunday night matchup. This should be another classic smashmouth December game as both teams have elite defenses with good running games. However, the advantage goes towards the Steelers here. While Antonio Brown hasn’t had much success against Baltimore, that’s been because Jimmy Smith shuts him down. Jimmy Smith is out for the season. Might be another game where Brown wins the division for the Steelers yet again. I’m gonna be a sad Ravens fan Sunday night if what I say is true. However, as is usual, this game will be decided by a field goal or less.

Ravens 20 Steelers 21

New England Patriots VS Miami Dolphins

This is going to be my lamest analysis yet. But here we go. It’s the Patriots. They have Tom Brady and Bill Bellichick. They’re playing the Dolphins. Who have Jay Cutler….need I say more? By the way, horrible play by Gronkowski. Love him on the field. But he needs to be more responsible. Shame on him. Deserved more than a 1 game suspension.

Patriots 31 Dolphins 12
